Admetec Introduces New Category of Ergonomic Magnification Loupes to North American Market

Preventing pain by allowing proper posture, ‘Ergo’ are the world’s only ultra-lightweight ergonomic loupes with up to 10x magnification.

Haifa, Israel – Admetec, a leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of custom-fitted magnification loupes and LED headlights for dentists, surgeons, veterinarians, and their staffs, have introduced its most advanced loupes to date to the North American marketplace. The company’s Ergo series are the world’s only ergonomic loupes providing up to 10-times magnification in an ultra-lightweight construction. The result is a sophisticated vision enlargement solution designed to help wearers maintain a neutral head position while tending to patients, thereby preventing, or alleviating, back, neck and other pain.

Dentists, surgeons, and other medical practitioners often spend long hours bent over in awkward positions to see fine details. Such strain frequently leads to musculoskeletal disorders affecting muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, joint cartilage, or spinal discs. In fact, as many as one-third1 of dentists retire prematurely due to physical ailments.

Ergonomic loupes combat pain and musculoskeletal disorders by enabling a healthy working posture. A relatively new category, ergonomic loupes are designed to benefit both doctors through improved posture, and patients through more exacting and efficient care.

Admetec’s Ergo series offers an unparalleled combination of magnification potential and user comfort. Customized to each individual wearer through a multi-factor process, the loupes’ precision vision and exceedingly light weight helps healthcare practitioners work more comfortably and effectively for extended periods of time, maximizing concentration by minimizing physical discomfort. Admetec’s innovative product design manages to retain exceptionally low weights even in the loupes with the largest of magnifications. Ergo 10x, with its large oculars, weighs just 52g. The loupes are available in six different levels of magnification: 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7.5x and 10x.

The Ergo series are through-the-lens (TTL) deflection loupes enabling a real declination angle of up to 80 degrees. Ergo essentially provides a new, more natural way to work, eliminating the need for head inclination thus reducing the load on the cervical spine and stress on the musculoskeletal system. The loupes’ benefits are also progressive: using Ergo loupes intuitively and subconsciously train clinicians to maintain correct head positioning and posture, protecting the health and wellbeing of practitioners over time.

Admetec’s COO, Danny Katz, explains: “Ergo loupes are a disruptive innovation in a very traditional field. For decades the industry has discussed the importance of ergonomics and addressed the wellbeing of doctors. And while every innovation was an improvement on predecessors, a new way of thinking was necessary to create a truly ergonomic solution.”

Sandi Wright, CEO & Founder of Andau Medical, exclusive distributor of Admetec loupes in North America, says: We are already receiving feedback from dentists, hygienists, and surgeons who describe their experience with Ergo loupes as life changing because Admetec’s innovative technology enables them to do their best work, free from pain. Medical practitioners who try them, immediately understand their benefits.”
